More Mysterious Oklahoma
by David A. Farris @ 2001 David A. Farris

On the afternoon of Dec. 5, 1990, about 2:00 P.M., reporters from the Record-Register ararived at the McWethy home. Mrs. McWethy hurried out of the house and excitedly told her guests to come quickly. They rushed into the kitchen to find all four members of the household and a floor covered with small rocks. The reporters wondered if this might be a bit of theater staged on their behalf. A neighbor soon arrived and the group began to echange introductions until they were interrupted by a sudden shower of stones. Rocks rained down upon the objective reporters, despite there being no holes in the ceiling as well as spraying horizontally. The window was closed; the projectiles seemed to come from nowhere. For forty-five minutes, the barrage continued in the kitchen. The outburst peppered the contents of the room, but seemed to concentrate on Twyla first, then her mother. When the group changed its location to the adjoining living room, it wasn't long until the phenomena followed. This time pennies, nickels and dimes accompanied the stones as they fell and hurled about the room. Twyla seemed to be the focus of much of the phenomena. When she left her seat in the living room, the cushion where she was sitting was covered with stones, even though the reporter sitting next to her saw they were not there when she sat down. The teenager claimed she often awakened to find mysterious stones in her bed. The activity ceased when Twyla left the room, but seemed to have followed her into the kitchen where it resumed.

As the reporters began to leave, sixteen pennies appeared nad fell on the steps of the back door. The women were followed all the way to their car by a light shower of stones--some hitting the house and some coming straight down...

In early 1991, Twyla and her mother claimed that the entity responsible for the ghostly goings-on had made contact with them. She told the Record-Register, "It was just a high-pitched  'psst' sound at first. Then gradually it went to 'yeah' and 'so.' Later, it got to syllables and sentences, and now we carry on conversations just like we're doing right now." Others who claim to have heard Michael's voice say it's similar to high-pitched sounds made by a cat.
