One More Story, Contemporary Seneca Tales of the Supernatural
(As told by DuWayne Leslie Bowen)

One time a young guy told me this story. One night he had come home from visiting his girlfriend. He was just old enough to start anything out late at night. When he got home this night, everybody was already asleep. He wanted to listen to the radio so he turned it on and kept the sound down. After he had been listening for a while, he thought that he heard a noise outdoors. It sounded like chains being dragged on the ground. So he got up and went to look outside but he didn't see anything. So he went back to listen to the radio some more. A few minutes later he heard a tapping sound at the window so he got up to go and look again. When he opened the curtain he jumped back real fast. There was something standing there looking in at him. It had a real furry face and there were horns sticking out of its forehead. Just then it took off running because there was a car coming down the road. It ran across the lawn and onto the road. The guy could see by the car lights that this thing had big furry legs and it had a long pointed tail. He could also see sparks when its hooves struck the pavement. It could run real fast and it ran over the bank and went toward the river.
